Winter Portrait 1

January 3, 2011

(Winter Portrait with Olga by Flushing Meadows)

It was a pretty cold winter day so we didn’t shoot that much.  I was however able to test some lighting concepts.  I shot this with the sun behind her and a Profoto head in an octabox on camera right.  The light was about 6 feet away from her with the strobe on the lowest power setting so it was on 37.5 watt/seconds.  I was on ISO 50 and F/5.0.  I really like the cool flare effect from the backlighting of the sun.  The slight hiding into her fur coat made the image more interesting.
