Tampering with the subject’s surface

On the subject of things that affect the specularity of light, we now focus on the subject. The subject’s surface is a what is being revealed so if we want to reveal less specular/glare, one way to cheat it is to change the nature of the surface.  For people, we can put powder on their skin and on shiny objects, there are sprays that cut the glare.
