Overexposed can be a good thing

March 14, 2010

Don’t always trust you camera’s exposure. That is what that exposure adjustment is for but on a bright day by the pool, it is good to set it on manual because that light scattering everywhere is just playing havoc on your camera’s exposure meter. For an easy way to do it, go to Av mode, set your aperture, then adjust the exposure up to taste. Note the shutter speed reading that your camera gives and now you have all the information to set it to manual. Now you are done and can snap away happy without the exposure inconsistencies between frames.
